This week, the Foundation for Delaware County awarded a grant of $30,000 from the Delaware County COVID-19 Response Fund to the Philadelphia County Medical Society in support of the Helping the Helpers program, a video conference support group for doctors, nurses and other frontline healthcare workers. The group aims to provide free emotional support, encouragement and compassionate self-care strategies to medical providers who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis. The program is a collaboration between PCMS, Springfield Psychological, the Chester and Delaware County Medical Societies, the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Leadership Council and the Coalition for the CommonHealth.
The goal of the Delaware County COVID-19 Response Fund is to help minimize the economic hardship and disruption of safety-net services in the country. The mission of the Foundation for Delaware County is to create a vibrant future for Delaware County by promoting generosity in and for the people of the county, improving the well-being of its residents, and energizing participation and partnership across its communities.
