Problems with Medical License Renewal?

Having problems knowing if your payment for your medical license was accepted? You can check the status of your license online at www.pals.pa.gov/verify to ensure that your license renewal is processed.

If you’ve already renewed your license and did not receive a confirmation number and payment receipt as opposed to a notification that your application is being processed, you can go to www.pals.pa.gov/verify to verify the status of your license renewal. According to the Department of State, if your credit card was not charged, your renewal was not successful. If your credit card was charged, but your license expiration date is still showing as 12/31/16, you should immediately contact the State Board of Medicine at [email protected] or (717) 783-1400.

Also, if you have not completed the required child abuse recognition and reporting training required for licensed renewal, do it now.

You must complete state-approved child abuse recognition and reporting training and it has to be processed by the state before you will be permitted to renew your license. The Pennsylvania Medical Society has an online, state-approved online course here.

Keep in mind that state processing times are likely to be longer as the Dec. 31 deadline gets closer, and that the state board is closed Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

Members with questions about their medical license can contact PAMED’s Knowledge Center at 855-PAMED4U (855-726-3348) or [email protected].
