Second Opinion: Jefferson vs. Drexel – Wed, April 26

Jefferson’s American Medical Association MSS chapter presents the second annual Second Opinion intercollegiate debate. The debate series pits medical students from schools around Philadelphia to debate current issues that pertain to physicians everywhere.

This year, students from Jefferson’s Sidney Kimmel Medical College will be debating students from Drexel University School of Medicine on the topic of “Should physicians use opioids to treat chronic illness?” The debate will cover issues from policy, to medicine, and even human rights to answer this pertinent question.

The winner of the night will not be decided by judges, but by the audience themselves! Using a system of digital polling, the audience will voice their opinions at the beginning and the end of the debate. The team who changes the most minds, wins.
