The Philadelphia County Medical Society is proud to announce the establishment of the Dr. Harvey Lefton Memorial GI Conference. Dr. Lefton, a cherished son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2024. He was a highly respected gastroenterologist who embodied the essence of a true Renaissance Man, excelling as an academician, entrepreneur, writer, editor, community leader, and devoted family man. His significant contributions to the field of medicine greatly improved the quality of medical care, leaving a lasting legacy throughout his career. The annual GI conference has been named in his honor, recognizing his hard work and unwavering dedication to both his patients and colleagues, all of which will be deeply missed.

The Dr. Harvey Lefton Memorial GI Conference is a free educational program featuring Philly’s top doctors discussing the latest in the field of Gastroenterology. Everyone including the general public is welcome to attend. The program is recommended for physicians, residents/fellows, medical students, nurses, physician assistants, psychologists and allied health care professionals.
