As emerging infectious diseases have been increasing over past decades with new threats like SARS and Ebola, novel diseases continue to threaten our population. Dr. Steve Alles from the Philadelphia Department of Public Health will discuss what we’ve learned from novel disease outbreaks, how a new pandemic may unfold, the threats we face, and the role of MRC volunteers at different stages of discovering a new disease.
