HIV testing
(formerly Senate Bill 260, now Act 59)
Makes HIV testing part of routine medical care and updates state law law so it is consistent with CDC recommendations Signed into law by Gov. Tom Corbett on July 7, 2011. Effective Sept. 5, 2011.
Joint and several liability

Addresses the issue of proportional liability.  Signed into law by Gov. Tom Corbett on June  28, 2011.

Pharmacist’s scope expansion

Tanning regulations
(SB 349)
(HB  369)
Would regulate tanning facilities and set age requirements for who may use them SB 349 passed the Senate Oct. 31, 2011, and now heads to the House Health Committee. HB 369 is in the House Judiciary Committee.

(formerly SB 314, now Act 98)
Bans reading, writing, or sending a message while driving, making any violation a primary offense. Signed into law by Gov. Tom Corbett on Nov. 9, 2011. Effective March 8, 2012.
